底が平らだと、お湯が粉の層全体に触れ続けるので、注ぎ方にむらがあっても抽出は均一になります。円錐形は流れを先端に集めるため、ケトルがふらつくとそのまま味に出ます。練習が要るのは、そのためです。
市販の平底タイプのペーパーが使えるので、日曜の朝に専用フィルターを切らす心配はありません。食洗機に入れてはいけないのは、コルクのバンドだけです。
