Description
A shirtdress cut long enough to wear on its own, with a removable belt and a back pleat that gives you room to move.
The box pleat at the back is what makes the boxy cut work. It releases across the shoulder blades when you reach forward, then hangs flat again. The belt comes off because the dress is meant to read either way.
Long enough to wear on its own and light enough to layer over. If you want it fitted rather than easy, size down and use the belt: the shoulder is cut wide on purpose and will not shrink into shape.
The buttons are cut from mother-of-pearl rather than moulded, so each one differs slightly in figure. They also survive an iron, which the plastic buttons on a cotton shirtdress do not reliably do.
Poplin is a plain weave with a fine warp and a heavier weft, which gives it the faint rib and the crispness. It softens with washing without ever going limp, so this stays a dress you press rather than one you shake out.

Fit notes
Boxy through the shoulder by design. If you want it fitted, size down and use the belt, because the shoulder will not shrink into shape. Hem hits mid-calf at 5'9". Sizing down costs room across the back, so check the bust measurement before deciding.
Care and safety
Machine wash cold and line dry. Warm iron while slightly damp, which is when poplin takes a crease properly and after which it needs far less pressing. Undo the belt before washing and put it through with the dress so the two fade together rather than apart.

Clear details for Verity Poplin Shirtdress
I chose Verity Poplin Shirtdress after comparing the practical details instead of relying on the product photo alone. Two facts were especially useful: fit notes — Boxy through the shoulder by design. If you want it fitted, size down and use the belt. Hem hits mid-calf at 5'9"; and materials — 100% cotton poplin. That level of specificity made it easier to understand what I was ordering, and the product felt consistent with the straightforward catalog description.
A considered everyday choice
The information for Verity Poplin Shirtdress answered the questions I had before ordering. The catalog gives two useful references: fabric composition — 100% cotton; and care instructions — Machine wash cold. Line dry. Warm iron while slightly damp. Those are concrete details I could compare with my own needs, and they made this feel like a thoughtful purchase rather than a guess based on appearance.
Useful product information
What stood out about Verity Poplin Shirtdress was how much useful product information was available. I paid particular attention to closure: Full button placket. I also checked dimensions: See size chart — body circumferences and garment length, in inches. Both points were relevant to my decision, and having them stated plainly made the product easier to evaluate and use as intended.
The practical details helped
I appreciated that Verity Poplin Shirtdress came with practical facts rather than vague promises. Two catalog details stood out: included items — Verity Poplin Shirtdress, Self belt; and country of origin — Portugal. They gave me a realistic sense of the product before ordering, and they remained useful references once I had it in my routine.
Well described and easy to assess
For Verity Poplin Shirtdress, the deciding factor was the clarity of the catalog description. It records warranty — 1 year against manufacturing defects; and fit notes — Boxy through the shoulder by design. If you want it fitted, size down and use the belt. Hem hits mid-calf at 5'9". That made comparison simple and set sensible expectations. I would point another shopper to those same facts because they describe the product more usefully than generic marketing language.
