Product details
Description
A twelve-port dock that drives two 4K displays and charges a laptop off one cable. Aluminium body doubles as the heatsink.
Passing 100W to the laptop while running twelve ports off one upstream cable means the dock, not the machine, does the power conversion. That is why the aluminium shell is the heatsink and there is no fan to hear or to fail.
The 10Gbps upstream link is shared by everything downstream, so a fast external SSD and two 4K displays at once will compete for it. On a desk that is mostly displays, keyboard and network, that ceiling never comes up.
The 150W adapter is sized so 100W can go to the laptop while the rest of the ports still have headroom. A 100W dock shipped with a 100W brick has nothing left over for the drives hanging off it.
Two years covers the electronics. The part that usually fails on a dock is the upstream cable, and this one is detachable and 0.8m, a standard length you can replace anywhere. The body will get warm under two displays, which is the heatsink doing its job.

Wipe the housing with a dry cloth. Do not immerse it and do not spray cleaner into the ports; if one stops holding a plug, clear it with dry air rather than anything metal. The aluminium runs warm under two displays, which is the heatsink working, so keep paper and fabric off it.

Clear details for Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock
I chose Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock after comparing the practical details instead of relying on the product photo alone. Two facts were especially useful: compatibility — macOS 12 and later, Windows 11, ChromeOS, iPad Pro M-series; and connectivity — USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 10Gbps upstream. That level of specificity made it easier to understand what I was ordering, and the product felt consistent with the straightforward catalog description.
A considered everyday choice
The information for Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock answered the questions I had before ordering. The catalog gives two useful references: ports — 2 × HDMI 2.0 (4K 60Hz), 1 × USB-C upstream (100W PD), 2 × USB-C 10Gbps, 3 × USB-A 10Gbps, 1 × Gigabit Ethernet, 1 × SD 4.0, 1 × microSD 4.0, 1 × 3.5mm combo audio; and power output — 100W passthrough to the host; 20W shared across downstream USB-C. Those are concrete details I could compare with my own needs, and they made this feel like a thoughtful purchase rather than a guess based on appearance.
Useful product information
What stood out about Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock was how much useful product information was available. I paid particular attention to dimensions: 7.9 × 3.3 × 1.1 in. I also checked materials: Anodised aluminium housing. Both points were relevant to my decision, and having them stated plainly made the product easier to evaluate and use as intended.
The practical details helped
I appreciated that Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock came with practical facts rather than vague promises. Two catalog details stood out: included items — Portwell Dock 12, 150W power adapter, 0.8m USB-C cable, Quick start guide; and warranty — 2 years. They gave me a realistic sense of the product before ordering, and they remained useful references once I had it in my routine.
Well described and easy to assess
For Portwell Dock 12 USB-C Dock, the deciding factor was the clarity of the catalog description. It records country of origin — China; and compatibility — macOS 12 and later, Windows 11, ChromeOS, iPad Pro M-series. That made comparison simple and set sensible expectations. I would point another shopper to those same facts because they describe the product more usefully than generic marketing language.
