Gallium nitride switches faster than silicon and wastes less of the energy as heat, which is the whole reason a 100W charger can be this small. It still gets warm in use; that is the electronics working, not failing.

Wipe with a dry cloth and do not immerse. It gets warm in use, which is normal for gallium nitride at this output; warm with nothing plugged in is not. Fold the pins away before it goes into a bag so the mechanism is not levered sideways against something.
